10-Day Greece Travel Guide
Experience the Magic of Greece With This 10-Day Travel Guide
Here’s the ten-day Greece itinerary I created for a mix of history, food, and beautiful scenery. I started with three days in Athens exploring ancient sites and vibrant neighborhoods. Next came a flight to Naxos to relax on beaches and enjoy local tavernas for three days. Afterward, I took the ferry to Santorini for stunning views and sunsets, spending three nights there. I finished with one last day in Athens before flying home. This route is a great way to experience both classic sights and island life.
Day One in Athens
Morning
Arrive in Athens at 10 AM and head straight to your hotel or Airbnb. Take a moment to drop your bags and refresh after the flight.
Start your trip energized; get ready to dive into the city's lively vibe right away.
Late morning
Take a stroll through the vibrant streets of Monastiraki, where you can explore quirky shops, street art, and bustling open-air markets.
Pop into a small café for a perfect Greek coffee, strong, rich, and served with a smile.
Lunch
Grab lunch at a local favorite taverna where you can feast on flavorful souvlaki, creamy tzatziki, and fresh, tangy Greek salad.
Make sure to try a fresh pita wrap loaded with grilled meats or falafel, eaten al fresco.
Afternoon
Discover the vibrant Central Market on Athinas Street, where locals shop for everything from olives to fresh fish—a feast for your senses.
Explore nearby hidden gems—the colorful Anafiotika neighborhood with its Cycladic island feel tucked under the Acropolis cliffs.
Evening
Head to a rooftop café or bar where the Acropolis is lit up like a beacon, offering one of the best first impressions of Athens.
Sip on an icy frappe or a glass of local wine while watching the sunset paint the city golden.
Dinner
Treat yourself to a meal at one of the city’s most celebrated tavernas, known for Greek favorites like moussaka, fresh seafood, or creamy saganaki.
Pair your dinner with a classic ouzo or a chilled glass of retsina to embrace the local spirit.
Night
Take a moonlit stroll through the lively pedestrian street of Dionysiou Areopagitou, soaking in the atmosphere with views of the Parthenon above.
Cap off the night with a relaxed drink at a stylish yet unpretentious bar, chatting with locals or fellow travelers.
